Island Resilience
Our goal is to establish sustainable approaches to marine resource management for Fiji’s Northern Lau Group that supports biodiversity conservation, building community resilience and sustainable community livelihoods. We are actively involved with our neighbors of Yacata Island through employment, sponsorships, transportation, health and educational awareness. Community projects focus on enhancing marine conservation awareness and practices, but to also support food security and sustainable livelihoods.
Learn to Swim and Water Safety Program
It is within our vision to inspire our younger generations as ocean advocates and to care for their environment. We strive to ensure children are safe around the water, taught the fundamentals of swimming and water safety, actively engage with the community to promote awareness of drowning prevention, advocate a love for the ocean and encourage children to be stewards of their environment. We have organized numerous marine awareness activities, including water safety programs, Clean Up campaigns, and junior surf development programs. Youth and community members are able to build their confidence in the water through a regular learn to swim and water safety training with marine awareness activities.
